Special Education Teachers:

Licensed Special Education Teacher - $5,000 Sign-On Bonus ($1,000 after successful completion of orientation; $2,000 after 120 days; $2,000 after 180 days) Non-Licensed Special Education Teacher - $2,500 Sign-On Bonus ($500 after successful completion of orientation; $1,000 after 120 days; $1,000 after 180 days) At Latham Centers, we're committed to setting our teachers up for success, whether you're experienced or just beginning to explore the field of special education. Our classrooms are intentionally designed, with approximately seven students supported by one teacher and one aide, allowing for meaningful, individualized instruction. We offer flexibility that's rare in traditional school settings, including five weeks (6 weeks your second year) of PTO you can use when it works best for you. If you're not yet licensed, we'll support you by covering MTEL costs and guiding you through the licensure process. As a residential campus, teachers can focus primarily on student growth within the school environment, with less day-to-day parent coordination. You'll also have access to ongoing professional development to keep building your skills.

TmLIGaMvs Key Responsibilities :

Develop classroom schedules and implement daily academic lesson planPlan activities for school vacations and summer school recreational programming Assist in writing and implementing school curriculum Write and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Design and implement pre-vocational and vocational curriculum within the daily schedule Understand and implement the school behavior management program Design and implement individualized and group behavior management plans Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and supervision Maintain knowledge of MCAS testing requirements, including accommodations and alternative assessment portfolios Gather MCAS documentation and create portfolios for spring submission Track student progress, complete semi-annual report cards, and prepare annual student transcripts Complete weekly, quarterly, and annual reports Maintain and organize classroom supplies and equipment Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including occasional emergency responsibilities related to the role

Requirements :

Must exhibit ambulatory ability sufficient to physically intervene in instances of extreme behavior that might jeopardize the safety of students and staff Basic computer skills High School Diploma or GED required Bachelor's degree in special education, education, or a related field required
