Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Here's an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Special Education Teacher seeking a meaningful role in a supportive educational setting. This full-time, onsite contract position focuses on covering a maternity leave from late September through the end of December. You'll be working with 6th to 8th grade students in a resource room environment, managing a caseload of 20 students. This is a fantastic chance to make a difference and keep students on track during a critical time in their academic year.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Special Education Teaching certification Previous experience in a middle school resource room setting preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Proficiency in tailoring lessons to a diverse group of learners Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct instruction to students in grades 6-8 in a resource room setting Develop and follow IEPs for each student, ensuring academic and behavioral goals are met Offer individualized and small group support focused on student needs Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments as needed Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth and self-confidence Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall success of the special education program This position offers a fulfilling work environment where your expertise will directly impact students' academic and personal success during an important transition.
