Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at Special Education(Life Skills/Behavior Room). The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse learning needs. This full-time position involves developing tailored educational plans, implementing effective teaching strategies, and collaborating with parents and other professionals to support student success. Responsibilities Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that educational goals are met. Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials as needed to meet individual learning goals. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and development. Provide support and guidance to students in social and emotional development, fostering a positive self-image and resilience. Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior, and communicate regularly with parents regarding progress and challenges. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education. Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and educational standards. Engage in team meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide initiatives that promote inclusivity and support for all students. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid state teaching certification in Special Education. Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting. Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Ability to develop and implement effective instructional strategies tailored to individual student needs. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students with special needs succeed. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
