Syosset-Levittown-East Northport Variety Child Learning Center We are currently accepting applications for Special Education Teachers with immediate, July and September start dates. Variety Child Learning Center (VCLC) is a 4410 not-for-profit agency providing quality educational and therapeutic services to young children with disabilities. Our Facilities are located in Syosset, Levittown, and East Northport, NY. Our schools operate 12 months/year following a school-based calendar. Hours are typically 8am-3:30pm Monday-Friday. Essential Functions:

A Special Education Teacher is responsible to develop and provide specialized instruction to meet the needs of each child in the class according to his/her/their IEP in all areas of development while implementing curriculum that is compatible with the New York State Learning Standards and the New York State Early Learning Guidelines. In addition, the teacher is responsible for ongoing evaluation and assessment of the student's progress toward instructional objectives and coordination of the delivery of special education services as per the IEP.

We require:

NYS Professional Certification in Special Education; Students with Disabilities Birth to Grade 2 or All Grades Additional ELL certification a plus These roles may be physically demanding. The employee is required to be non-sedentary. Must be able to stand; run, walk; sit; bend, climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; The employee must be able to lift an average pre-school age child (35 pounds) and school age child (50 pounds).

From $55,000.00 per year
