Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Two Rivers Supervisory Union is looking for a dynamic Special Education teacher to work with students at Green Mountain Union High School. This is a full time position for the 2026-2027 school year. The Special Educator will work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to meet the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide life skills instruction Provide direct instruction in reading to individuals and small groups based on student needs and IEP goals. Conduct assessments to inform instruction and track student progress in reading development. Design and implement effective learning strategies tailored to students with disabilities. Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success. Support the development and implementation of IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Utilize technology and current educational tools to enhance reading instruction. Stay informed about current trends and research in reading instruction and special education.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication skills including interpersonal, written and oral. Knowledge of curriculum modification based on understanding of learning theory and pedagogy practices in basic skill areas of reading, writing, language, and mathematics. Strong knowledge of reading development, intervention strategies, and best practices. Experience working with students with diverse learning needs. Knowledge and skills regarding Individual Education Plan (IEP) development.
