We are locally roasted, specialty crafted, and passionate about the coffee industry. We are seeking someone who is equally passionate, knowledgeable and customer-oriented to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for coffee and a commitment to providing exceptional service. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and ensuring customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. Please note, this is a seasonal position for April-September and does require you to be present for the summer (including summer holidays.) Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other specialty drinks according to established recipes. Operate cash register and handle cash transactions accurately while providing excellent customer service. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station, dining area, and equipment. Assist with food preparation and ensure adherence to food safety standards. Engage with customers to take orders, answer questions about menu items, and provide recommendations. Manage inventory levels of coffee beans, syrups, pastries, and other supplies; report any shortages to management. Demonstrate time management skills by efficiently handling multiple orders during peak hours. Utilize retail math skills to process transactions and provide accurate change. Qualifications Previous experience in the food industry or retail environment is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment is a plus. Excellent cash handling skills with attention to detail in processing payments. Basic math skills for managing transactions and inventory counts. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with customers. Knowledge of food safety practices is highly desirable. Flexibility to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
