$40-90/hr pending experience About the Role Thrive Education Partners is seeking an exceptional Special Education Teacher to support a fourth-grade student in a homebound setting in Miller Place, NY. This is a highly personalized, one-on-one role for an educator who can assess, adapt, and deliver targeted instruction across subjects, with a strong emphasis on reading intervention. The ideal candidate brings both strong instructional expertise and the ability to build a positive, engaging learning environment. Responsibilities Provide in-home instruction across core subjects (ELA, math, etc.) Deliver targeted reading intervention aligned to the student's needs Assess the student's current levels of performance and adjust instruction accordingly Implement progress monitoring to track growth over time Collaborate with the family and school district as needed to ensure alignment Create a structured, encouraging, and engaging learning environment Experience Certified or experienced Special Education Teacher Strong background in reading intervention (OG experience a plus, but not required) Confident in assessing student needs and differentiating instruction Skilled in progress monitoring and data-driven instruction Warm, engaging, and positive personality Professional, adaptable, and comfortable working closely with a highly informed parent Reliable and able to commit consistently to the schedule Schedule Details Approximately 10 hours per week Preferred schedule: Monday-Thursday, ~10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Two days may require slightly extended hours to reach 10 total hours per week

Important:

Student has a structured midday break for meals/supplements. On longer days, this may require a brief pause in instruction (with flexibility to step out and return).
