Job Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic services to students with speech and language disorders in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This position includes conducting evaluations and re-evaluations, developing and implementing individualized treatment plans, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Speech-Language Pathologist collaborates closely with parents, teachers, administrators, and related service personnel to support student communication and academic success. Additional responsibilities include participating in multidisciplinary meetings, monitoring student progress, and providing training and consultation to staff and families.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain current knowledge of speech-language disorders, evidence-based practices, and therapeutic intervention strategies. Conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments to accurately identify students' speech and language needs, including articulation, voice, fluency, and language disorders. Develop individualized treatment plans and implement appropriate therapy sessions using a variety of assessments, techniques, and instructional materials tailored to diverse age groups and learning needs. Complete comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines. Prepare and submit weekly lesson plans aligned with student goals and therapy objectives. Schedule and provide speech-language services as outlined in students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), while maintaining an accurate weekly service schedule. Provide consultation, training, and support to staff and parents/guardians regarding speech and language development, disorders, and intervention strategies. Case manage evaluations, IEPs, ACCESS documentation, and related compliance requirements within mandated timelines. Maintain accurate and timely therapy logs, service documentation, progress monitoring data, and student progress reports. Establish and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with parents/guardians, staff, and related service personnel to support student success. Provide Procedural Safeguards Notices and explain processes related to evaluation, eligibility, placement, continuation, or dismissal of services. Facilitate and participate in Multidisciplinary Evaluation (MDE) and IEP meetings to review assessment findings, recommendations, and student progress. Communicate student progress with parents/guardians through quarterly progress reports, conferences, and additional meetings as requested. Maintain and update caseload records and tracking systems, including IEP documentation, district reports, and student information systems. All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in Speech and Language Impaired PK-12 required Submission of pre-employment medical examination Submission of the following clearances:

Pennsylvania State Criminal History Record Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare Child Abuse History Clearances Federal Background Check (Fingerprints) Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
