LBS I High school/Transition program teaching experience preferredESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Special Education teacher in a District 200 Transition program functions as a case manager for students with an Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Specifically-design curriculum and instructional materials for each student in the area of functional life skills. Design and support behavior intervention and management strategies tailored to meet the individual emotional/behavioral needs of each student. Demonstrate knowledge of Transition services and programs available to students and have a working knowledge of SSI/SSDI, and PUNS/Day One PACT programs and services. Consult and collaborate with team members on a regular basis. Maintain all aspects of an IEP, manage and monitor progress toward goals, and meet mandated timelines for IEP compliance. Design and implement a schedule for regular communication with parents. Evaluate student progress toward post-secondary outcomes. Be able to assist in personal care of students, with training and assistance. Maintain student confidentialityOther:
Works collaboratively with staff and administration. Displays professional work attire and grooming. Maintains regular and punctual attendance. Exhibits positive attitude toward job responsibilities.Terms of Employment:
