Per Diem / PRN (as needed) Position Summary Castro County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Per Diem Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary care team. The SLP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. This role offers flexibility while providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive skilled nursing environment. Key Responsibilities Evaluate residents to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and physician orders Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing abilities Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, occupational and physical therapists, and family members Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment plans and home exercise programs Ensure compliance with state, federal, and professional standards of practice Participate in care planning meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions as needed Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program Current Texas state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (or Clinical Fellowship considered) Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload Schedule & Compensation Per diem / PRN schedule based on facility needs Competitive hourly rate Why Join Us Flexible scheduling to fit your availability Supportive team environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in residents' quality of life Collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to care #IND1
