Job Description
Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Make a difference in students' lives this summer while enjoying a flexible schedule! A rewarding opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support an ESY (Extended School Year) Summer Program in Punxsutawney, PA. This contract position involves delivering targeted, in-person speech therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs, all within a condensed summer timeframe. This role is ideal for professionals seeking part-time summer work with a balanced schedule. You'll work on-site just one day per week, with your choice of any day Monday through Thursday. The assignment runs from June 8 to June 11, June 15 to June 18, and June 22 to June 25, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM each day.
Key qualifications:
Active state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred Knowledge of IEP documentation, goal writing, and progress monitoring Ability to work independently and collaboratively with school staff Strong communication and organizational skills Your responsibilities: Provide direct speech therapy to students as written into their IEPs—each student receives speech therapy three times within the ESY program dates Maintain clear, accurate session notes and documentation for compliance Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure student success Adapt session activities to meet individual student needs and goals Communicate regularly with families and team members as needed Benefits of this contract role include a manageable workload, the chance to maintain professional skills over the summer, and great schedule flexibility to enjoy your summer months.
