Fergus Falls Public Schools The Fergus Falls School District is seeking to fill a full-time Speech Language Pathologist position for the 2026-27 school year to serve students with disabilities within our district. Full-time wage range is $58,833/year
  • $92,401/year based on experience.

JOB SUMMARY
The Speech-Language Pathologist plays a vital role on our multidisciplinary team, dedicated to supporting students whose communication impacts their educational journey. In this collaborative position, you will conduct screenings and comprehensive evaluations, provide impactful direct services, and serve as the
IEP/IFSP
manager or related service provider to ensure every student's needs are met. This position offers meaningful opportunities to collaborate with families, teachers, and other specialists to develop effective communication strategies that support student success across educational settings. The Speech-Language Pathologist monitors student progress toward individualized goals, contributes to educational planning, and ensures services are aligned with each student's unique strengths and needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology; Valid MN Speech Language Pathologist license Current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred Experience in due process procedures including conducting evaluations, writing IEPs/IFSPs, progress monitoring and meeting facilitation. Experience working with students with disabilities, demonstrating a wide variety of communication needs, ages birth to 22. Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and cooperatively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate well in both written and oral formats. Experience with students who use a variety of communication modalities including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Current knowledge of special education laws, rules and regulations, district policies and procedures; demonstrating the ability to apply these to ensure district due process and service delivery compliance. Knowledge of instructional technologies, software, equipment, tools, and devices utilized for delivering instruction, documenting assessments, tracking student progress, and addressing other classroom administrative needs within the district. Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents by establishing a culture of respect.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in multidisciplinary team evaluation/assessment, develop and implement annual Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) for students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs, instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services required to meet those goals. Provide expertise administering, scoring and interpreting special education assessment tools and procedures while addressing criteria for special education eligibility and evaluation report writing. Provide and maintain 3rd party billing documentation for eligible students. Provide IEP case management and IFSP service coordination as needed. Coordinate the delivery of special education services and instruction as outlined in the IEP or IFSP. Provide consultation to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptations, instructional modifications, augmentative and alternative communication, behavior support plans, visual supports and other similar instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Provide professional expertise, consult and collaborate with parents, educational service providers, special education teachers, social services, public health, and medical providers to ensure the effective provision of services and interpret student progress. Implement a variety of service delivery models including push-in classroom intervention, indirect/consultation, and pull-out intervention as appropriate to meet student needs in the least restrictive environment. Utilize a variety of materials and teaching techniques including evidence-based practices while utilizing a system of continuous progress monitoring of each student's achievement. Encourage and instruct parents and educational staff in appropriate methods to assist the student with disabilities. Participate in meetings to include IEP, IFSP, conferences, training, department meetings and in-services for the purpose of developing plans and/or providing information regarding student's goals and objectives. Prepare documentation (evaluation, observations, progress reports) and maintain records as required for compliance with district administrative policies, state and federal laws and regulations.
