As part of a small 30-bed critical access hospital, the SLP delivers personalized care with short lines of communication and rapid decision-making. The inpatient unit, swing-bed program, and outpatient therapy gym create a diverse caseload across acute, post-acute, and ambulatory settings. Well-equipped treatment spaces, portable instrumentation, and telehealth options support timely swallow evaluations and communication therapies. A collaborative environment ensures the SLP remains integral to stroke pathways, delirium prevention, and safe nutrition initiatives.
This Clinical Speech Pathologist reports to a collaborative Rehabilitation Services Manager with matrix support from Nursing and Quality. Daily practice is surrounded by friendly nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, surgeons, dietitians, and a diverse rehabilitation team dedicated to whole-person care. Core responsibilities include evaluation and treatment planning, patient and family education, interprofessional rounding, and participation in performance improvement. Ample onboarding, mentorship, and manageable caseloads keep the Clinical Speech Pathologist focused on outcomes, access, and service.
Located in scenic Washington State within the Pacific Northwest, the Medical Speech Pathologist benefits from four-season recreation, mild summers, and quick access to mountains, rivers, and evergreen trails.
