Key Qualifications:
Current licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Previous experience, internship, or practicum in a school or pediatric setting preferred Familiarity with IEP documentation and treatment planning Ability to follow therapy plans designed by supervising SLPs Exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational skills Commitment to cultural sensitivity and inclusive practices
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students under supervision Implement treatment activities and strategies tailored to individual student goals Collect and document accurate data on student progress and session notes Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to support student needs Assist with preparation of therapy materials and maintenance of therapy spaces Contribute to team meetings, providing input and observations about student progress Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere for communication development Working as an SLPA in this role opens the door to ongoing professional support, exposure to a variety of communication disorders, and the chance to impact students' academic and social achievements.
