Summary As a Speech Therapist at Pioneer Charter School of Science, you will play a vital role in supporting students with speech and language challenges. This position is essential in helping our students achieve their academic goals and ensuring they are prepared for the rigors of college education. Responsibilities Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and deliver speech therapy interventions to students Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (PT, OT, and ST) to support comprehensive care with focus on community re-entry Document progress and maintain accurate student records Educate students and families on strategies to maximize communication Consulting with classroom teachers and support staff to coordinate classroom lessons and target specific social language development in cooperative group skills, self-concept, and daily living skills. Participate in IEP meetings to discuss student goals and therapy plans with parents, teachers, and other professionals. Prepare reports for IEPs and other necessary documentation as required by the school district Qualifications Current state licensure or certification as a Speech Therapist. Experience working with children, particularly in a school setting, is preferred. Strong knowledge of early intervention strategies and pediatric speech therapy techniques. Ability to assess patient needs effectively and develop appropriate treatment plans. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families. Familiarity with medical terminology related to speech therapy is beneficial but not required.
