Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract Bring your expertise in Speech-Language Pathology to a dynamic school setting near Metairie, LA! This is a contract-based, onsite opportunity starting in early August 2026, extending through late May 2027. As a key member within a dedicated educational environment, you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of students while working closely with other caring professionals.
Qualifications & Experience:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders is required Active and current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) is highly preferred Previous school-based experience or pediatric setting experience is a plus Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills Successful completion of a district-specific drug screen and fingerprinting (in addition to standard credentialing requirements)
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality speech and language therapy services to students as assigned Conduct thorough assessments and develop IEP goals in line with student needs Monitor and document student progress, maintaining up-to-date records Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and school-based initiatives Adapt intervention approaches for diverse age groups and caseloads (to be determined at assignment)
