Job Description

Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Exciting opportunity available for a talented Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) seeking to make an impact in an elementary school setting. This contract role offers the chance to work closely with approximately 35 students who receive speech and language services, providing targeted support and meaningful engagement every day. In this position, you will deliver individualized and small group speech-language therapy—tailoring interventions based on student goals and needs. Your expertise will play a vital part in helping students achieve communication milestones while fostering a positive, inclusive environment. Consistent collaboration with teachers, school staff, and a supervising Speech-Language Pathologist ensures effective integration of services and continual student progress.
Key qualifications and skills include:
Valid SLPA license or certification. Previous experience in school-based settings preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to documentation. Ability to adapt interventions to both individual and small group settings. Excellent interpersonal abilities for collaboration with educators and therapists. Familiarity with data tracking and progress note best practices.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
Implement direct speech and language therapy to assigned students. Collaborate with classroom staff and teachers to reinforce speech and language goals within the academic setting. Keep comprehensive and accurate student data, progress notes, and service documentation. Communicate updates and concerns to the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. Participate in team meetings regarding student progress and planning.
