Job Description

This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Alabama State Transportation Manager. Under general direction, this position will plan, coordinate, control and manage the Mobile Alabama Spoke Delivery Operations. Responsibilities to include, but not limited to: Plan, direct, manage and coordinate all areas of activities and employees for the Mobile Alabama Delivery Department. Responsible for Scheduling, Controlling Overtime, controlling breakage, safety, routing, end of day driver check-in, returns and Fleet Maintenance. Must be flexible on hours to work. Responsible for evaluating employee performance and adjusting when and where problems exist. Responsible for accurate management of time & attendance system. Responsible for the proper filing of DOT Documents and Truck Records. Provides direct leadership to assigned Delivery Team, including mentoring, performance appraisals and development and counseling when warranted. Develops and establishes plans, operating objectives, goals and performance standards for delivery operations. Ensure that safe operating procedures and practices are followed and monitors compliance with all recommended OSHA and DOT regulations. Executing effective training programs, production standards and tracking. Responsible for executing the Monthly Safety Training Program to the Delivery Team. Responsible for making sure all Delivery Vehicles are clean. Responsible for opening and closing of the facility when needed. Responsible for showing professionalism in all of the following areas at all times: Attire, conduct, time management, proper and thorough follow up, employee management. Responsible for adhering to and ensuring employees adhere to all Company policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Supervisor experience in a fast-paced delivery environment Excellent analytical skills and ability to plan and control logistics. Must have previous truck driving / delivery experience due to the fact this position may be required to make deliveries if needed. Must be able to lift to 60lbs. repetitively. Mature judgment regarding handling of sensitive and confidential information. Must be able to communicate with people/employees effectively. Excellent oral & written communication skills. Proficient knowledge of basic computer applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook). Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management & organizational skills. Must possess and be able to maintain valid driver's license. Must possess a valid DOT medical card Must be able to prioritize & work in a rapidly changing, fast growth environment. Must have the ability to work in various weather conditions. There will be long hours and must be able to work until the shift is complete; there is no definite shift or quitting time. Must be able to pass background checks (i.e. Police backgrounds, reference checks) Motor vehicle record will be pulled:
Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record:
Cannot have more than two (2): moving violations and/or at-fault vehicle accidents (any combination) in the past three (3) years (for speeding, violations must be under 16mph) Cannot have more than one (1): speeding violation of 16-29mph OR at-fault accident in the past three (3) years Cannot have a major violation such as: DUI/DWI, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and/or super speeder (29+mph) violation in the past five (5) years Drug Free Workplace.
