Job Description

FERTILIZER SPREADER / TRUCK DRIVER
Carmine Feed & Fertilizer is a family-owned business serving customers across multiple counties in central Texas. We operate two feed store locations in Giddings and Carmine as well as a fertilizer blending plant in Carmine and a plant nursery in Giddings. We're looking for a dependable Class A CDL spreader truck operator to join our on-site service team. This is a full-time, hourly role offering plenty of overtime pay during our peak seasons (fall and spring). And we're already in the middle of the busiest time of year so this person can expect to hit the ground running!
Daily duties include:
Applying bulk fertilizer, ag lime, and weed-spraying products to customer fields and pastures. Previous experience with this is useful, but not required, so long as you are willing to learn and physically capable of routinely operating the equipment under physically demanding (bumpy) off-road/pasture conditions. Making delivery runs between stores and/or to customers as needed. Delivering bulk feed to customers in the field using our dry bulk grain truck. Serving as a backup dock hand at one or both store locations, as needed, during the off-season (usually mid-summer and mid-winter). The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with: Valid Class A CDL with air brake endorsement. At least 2 years diverse commercial driving and/or equipment operation experience. Highest pay will be awarded to operators with off-road equipment operation and/or driving background, as 85% of the work will be performed in this environment rather than over the road. Mechanical aptitude. Experience operating a skid steer, forklift, and other material handling equipment. Background in local agriculture (highly desirable, but willing to train someone teachable and hard-working). Good judgment and the ability to work independently in the field. Carmine Feed offers a number of benefits, including: Competitive wages (to be determined based upon individual skills and background) Group health insurance 401(K) , with employer matching Paid vacation Employee discount on feed and store merchandise For immediate consideration, qualified candidates are encouraged to submit a resume and cover letter through Indeed (preferred).
