Job Description:
The Senior Associate, Quality Engineering is responsible for ensuring products meet customer, contractual, regulatory, and internal quality requirements while supporting on-time delivery. This role provides Quality Engineering support to production and program teams, drives root cause and corrective action activities, reviews technical data for compliance, supports Material Review Board and First Article Inspection activities, and helps implement continuous improvement initiatives across Amityville's Release Systems programs.Essential Functions:
Interface with manufacturing, engineering, customers, and suppliers to ensure quality and contractual requirements are understood and met. Develop and implement program quality plans, inspection strategies, and supporting procedures as required. Conduct contract review and ensure applicable requirements are flowed down to suppliers and internal functional teams. Provide technical support and training to inspection personnel and generate inspection plans as needed. Analyze quality data and trends, investigate issues, and develop corrective and preventive actions; present findings at internal and executive review boards as required. Support Material Review Board activities and disposition nonconforming product, including coordination with customers when approvals are required. Review and approve engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, Acceptance Test Procedures, models, and manufacturing work instructions, to ensure adequacy and compliance with contractual and technical requirements. Support design reviews, production readiness reviews, and other cross-functional program meetings. Perform internal process audits, document results, and recommend corrective actions; support external and customer audits as needed. Review and approve First Article Inspection reports in accordance with AS9102 requirements. Support Zero Defect Plan initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and assigned quality projects.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field with a minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering; OR 2 year post-secondary/Associate degree and 6 years of prior experience; OR in lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience. Minimum 1 year of experience in the aerospace or defense industry. Minimum 1 years of experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting quality engineering in a manufacturing environment. Experience with root cause and corrective action, nonconformance resolution, and cross-functional problem solving. AS9100 and/orISO 9001
quality auditing experience. Experience supporting military or aerospace manufacturing environments. Familiarity with mechanical assembly, machining, special processes, and inspection methods. Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action, Lean Six Sigma, and Zero Defects principles. Working knowledge of industry specifications and standards related to materials and manufacturing processes. Proficiency with quality data analysis and presentation of findings to cross-functional teams. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C, Denver, or NYC areas is [$73,000 MIN- $136,000 MAX].
