Job description Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We've designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We're looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onward toward certifying the Joby aircraft, scaling our manufacturing, and launching our initial commercial service. Overview We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Autoclave Operator Technician. In this role, you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in operating and monitoring autoclave equipment used in the curing of composite materials. Job duties include machine operations including proper loading and unloading of parts, setting up and adjusting process parameters, and closely monitoring the autoclave throughout the curing cycle. As a Senior Autoclave Operator, you will not only be responsible for providing major oversight to the autoclave operation with precision but will also train and mentor other technicians. Your extensive knowledge and experience in heated cure cycle operations will be invaluable in guiding and supporting the professional development of your colleagues.   • 6:30PM Responsibilities Assist in the loading and unloading of composite parts into the autoclave, ensuring proper positioning and securing for safe curing.
Monitor and record autoclave readings, including temperature, pressure, and cycle times, to ensure proper curing conditions are maintained . Assist in conducting routine maintenance tasks on the autoclave equipment, including cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting minor issues. Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Maintain autoclave equipment such as vacuum hoses and disassemble, assemble, maintain , and repair ports to prepare for production use Support in process development and system improvements. Required HS Diploma or GED Equivalent. 4 + years of head cycle experience, preferably in large autoclave systems, and demonstrated abilities to develop process, train team members, and high-level problem-solving skills. Deep understanding of PLC systems, cure cycles, and thermal mass technicalities. 4+ years of curing composite materials. Demonstrated abilities following standardized work instructions, technical requirements, and executing standard processes. Intermediate computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes. Ability to stand, squat, bend, pull, twist and lift continuously throughout the day for extended periods of time. Lifting of 50 lbs. or less Must wear PPE when required . Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials and able to become certified to wear a respirator. Desired 1+ year of manufacturing experience 1 year of experience working with autoclave equipment in a manufacturing or composites industry setting Familiarity with autoclave operations, including loading/unloading, process parameter adjustment, and monitoring. Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment Experience in a high-volume production environment that relies on a well-defined process to achieve maximum efficiency. Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S environments. The target base pay for this position is 32
  • 48/hr.
The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
