Glassdoor Compensation:

$45 - 50/hr - Full Time with Benefits Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil CADD Technician with specialized experience in Bentley MicroStation to join our engineering team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with civil engineers and project managers to translate conceptual designs into precise engineering drawings, plans, and schematics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil infrastructure projects—such as transportation, highways, land development, drainage, or utility systems—and a deep technical command of Bentley design software.

Core Responsibilities Drafting & Design:

Utilize Bentley MicroStation (and OpenRoads/InRoads as applicable) to prepare high-quality, detailed 2D and 3D civil engineering drawings, including site plans, plan and profile views, cross-sections, and grading plans.

Collaboration:

Work alongside civil engineers to incorporate design modifications, redlines, and field data into final construction documents.

Standards Compliance:

Ensure all drawings comply with company drafting standards, client specifications, and local, state, or Department of Transportation (DOT) CAD guidelines.

Data Management:

Manage, organize, and archive project drawing files and reference files (XREFs/models) within project directories or document management systems (e.g., ProjectWise).

Quality Control:

Perform self-checks and peer reviews of drawings for accuracy, completeness, and clarity prior to final engineering sign-off.

Quantity Take-offs:

Assist the engineering team with basic civil calculations and quantity take-offs directly from CADD models.

Required Qualifications and Skills MicroStation Expertise:

Minimum of 2-5 years of professional experience using Bentley MicroStation in a civil engineering environment.

Civil Design Tools:

Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer (ORD) or InRoads is highly preferred.

Industry Experience:

Proven track record working on civil infrastructure projects (e.g., roadway design, site grading, utility corridors, or stormwater management).

DOT Standards:

Familiarity with state Department of Transportation (DOT) workspaces, CAD standards, and delivery requirements is a significant plus.
