Sr. Estimator

Senior Estimator needed to lead full-cycle estimating for pre-engineered metal building, structural steel, and commercial/industrial construction projects. Job Requirements 5-10+ years of estimating experience in pre-engineered metal buildings, structural steel, or commercial/industrial construction Experience estimating mid- to large-scale PEMB projects Experience with aviation hangars, hangar doors, mezzanines, cranes, wide clear spans, long bays, or high-eave structures Proficiency with MBS Estimating Software Proficiency with Bluebeam or equivalent estimating tools Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and bid documents Experience performing detailed quantity takeoffs Experience developing comprehensive cost estimates Experience preparing bid packages, proposals, RFIs, and clarifications Preferred Skills Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with AI-enabled document review tools Experience with design-build or conceptual estimating Familiarity with AutoCAD or Tekla Labor pricing experience Experience estimating complex or high-value projects Experience mentoring junior estimators Experience maintaining historical cost data and estimating databases Experience tracking estimate-to-actual performance Job Responsibilities Lead full-cycle estimating for PEMB, structural steel, and commercial/industrial construction projects Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define project scope and requirements Perform quantity takeoffs for primary framing, secondary framing, roof systems, wall systems, insulation, trims, and accessories Develop cost estimates for internally supplied materials and buyout items Solicit, evaluate, and level vendor and subcontractor pricing Apply current market conditions, material pricing, and construction cost drivers to estimates Prepare complete bid packages, proposals, RFIs, and clarifications Identify scope gaps, overlaps, project risks, and value engineering opportunities Participate in pre-bid meetings, customer discussions, and internal bid reviews Support competitive bid strategies while maintaining margin and profitability targets Coordinate estimating activities with sales, engineering, drafting, project management, and operations teams Lead estimating efforts for complex or high-value projects Mentor and support junior estimators on pricing strategy and risk analysis Support project turnover from estimating to execution teams Provide budget updates as projects evolve Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases Track estimate-to-actual performance to support continuous improvement
