Job Description

Our firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to join a collaborative and highly respected litigation practice focused on complex business disputes and civil litigation matters. This is an opportunity for an experienced attorney who enjoys hands-on litigation, strategic case management, and working closely with a tight-knit team in an environment that values mentorship, professional growth, and work-life balance. The firm offers meaningful courtroom experience, direct interaction with clients, and the opportunity to take ownership of sophisticated litigation matters from inception through resolution. Attorneys are encouraged to focus on the areas of litigation they enjoy most while continuing to strengthen their advocacy and leadership skills. Responsibilities Manage complex civil litigation matters through all phases of litigation Attend virtual and in-person court appearances on a regular basis Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and other court filings Conduct legal research and oversee discovery strategy and execution Take and defend depositions, participate in mediations, and assist with trial preparation Collaborate with attorneys during weekly case strategy and alignment meetings Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to a team-oriented environment Maintain a high standard of client service and case management Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school Active Illinois Bar license in good standing 7+ years of civil litigation experience Prior Experience in any/all of the following preferred (construction, employment, and/or bankruptcy law) Strong experience drafting motions, pleadings, and court orders Prior courtroom and deposition experience required Excellent legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills Ability to independently manage multiple matters and deadlines Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively within a litigation team
