Job Description

Process Engineer Job Description The Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining robust plastic injection molding processes to ensure consistent product quality, operational efficiency, and waste reduction. This role supports new product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and production troubleshooting across molding and secondary operations. Responsibilities Analyze process performance to enhance efficiency and quality. Lead root cause investigations to resolve production issues. Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and process window studies. Document corrective actions and provide technical guidance to production teams. Evaluate new materials and technologies to improve processes. Ensure inspection and quality standards are consistently met. Collaborate cross-functionally to support manufacturing goals. Essential Skills 10+ years of experience in plastic injection molding processing. Expertise in root cause analysis and production troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of mold construction, material properties, and mechanical equipment used in plastics manufacturing. Proficiency in Lean manufacturing principles and 5S methodologies. Intermediate computer skills and ERP system literacy. Strong written, verbal, and technical documentation skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, CNC routers, and ultrasonic welders. Forklift certification or ability to obtain. Demonstrated teamwork, professionalism, and self-motivation. Work Environment This position is based in an on-site manufacturing environment with opportunities for day, swing, and graveyard shifts. The role involves hands-on work supporting molding and secondary operations, with close collaboration with production, quality, and engineering teams. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, process discipline, and continuous improvement. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
