GENERAL PURPOSE
The key functions of this position are reviewing, drafting, and processing a variety of transportation contracts, including amendments, addendums, non-disclosure agreements, event agreements, statements of work, to support the corporation's logistic management teams. The individual will assess incoming contract requests for completeness, and review, draft, and support negotiation of contract documents and interact with internal business stakeholders and vendors or their representatives, as directed. All these tasks will be completed with Ross Legal Department review of final outputs.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Contract review, analysis and drafting- Review and analyze contracts and redlines
- Draft and redline contracts and provide written and oral recommendations to legal and business requestors as directed
- Support negotiation of contract terms with carriers/providers or their representatives as necessary
- Support periodic updates to and distribute contract templates
- Assist business stakeholders with contract finalization support including signature authority, electronic signatures, counterpart signatures, etc.
- Track required cross functional approvals required per Ross policy Contract in-take
- Maintain Excel log of incoming contract requests
- Assess internal contract review requests and complete initial intake checklist for contract requests
- Provide appropriate contract templates to business stakeholders
- Communicate department processes to business stakeholders and contract requestors Contract Projects
- Upload contracts into database
- Prepare contract reports
- Support records management program
- Support other Ross teams with projects and other assignments as needed Claims
- Oversee claims process from gathering information, to filing, to recovery.
- Collaboratively work with A/P, DCs, Transportation Ops, Merchants, Carriers, Insurance Providers and Inventory Control to investigate and recover claims.
RMS, RDM, TMS, RDW
Micro-strategy and Carrier websites.- Systemically file claims documentation and recover funds to offset loss through existing tools Access and Excel.
- Recommend settlements internally and as authorized negotiate settlements on behalf of the company.
- Collaborate with Inventory Control and Risk Management on possible claims.
- Follow up on open claims for payment status.
Process Management & Administration:
- Monitor Accounts Payable research of unit receipts using RDM, MERA and physical BOLs.
- Filing and long-term storage of BOLs must meet all internal and external audit standards.
- Responsible for the maintenance of standard operating procedures and workflows for all job duties within the Procurement support group.
- Special projects as needed by the Transportation Procurement Director and Procurement Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
- Transportation experience required
- B.A. degree or equivalent work experience
- Paralegal or equivalent experience required; paralegal certificate a plus
- Minimum 5-8 years experience in contract management
- Experience with reviewing, drafting, and handling contracts
- Knowledge of transportation contracts, best practices and implications / objectives / ramifications of contractual provisions
- Excellent organization skills, with a passion for details
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment; supervisory experience is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively work and coordinate with a variety of internal and external contacts
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA
Job requires ability to work in an office environment, primarily on a computer. Requires sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking on the telephone, attending in-person meetings, typing, and working with paper/files, etc. Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.Vision requirements:
Ability to see information in print and/or electronically. This role requires regular in-office presence, including to engage in in-person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback.
