Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant assists with detailed activities associated with maintaining general ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Downstream Casino Resort's policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in the preparation of financial reporting as required. Prepares and keys journal entries as needed. Assists in special projects as required. Records and balances construction transactions and accounts Experience in Infinium and Cognos preferred. Review monthly Construction Pay Application for completeness and accuracy. Process depreciation expenses in accordance with company's capital policy. Review supporting project documentation to ensure assets are being capitalized or expensed in accordance with GAAP and the company's capital policy; Prepare monthly and quarterly fixed asset reporting, including general ledger reconciliations, roll forward schedules, and depreciation models; Analyze Capital and Construction in Progress accounts for proper accounting Verifies the accuracy of information transmitted to the financial reporting system. Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner. Provide accounting support to other departments as needed.
