Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This opportunity is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day financial activities with accuracy while contributing to tax and general ledger processes. The role requires a strong understanding of corporate accounting practices and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries to maintain accurate and timely financial records.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to ensure reporting accuracy.
• Support corporate tax activities, including the preparation of documentation for corporate tax returns.
• Manage sales tax reporting obligations and help ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Assist with month-end and period-end close activities by reviewing transactions and validating balances.
• Analyze accounting data and provide support for internal financial reporting needs.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and uphold established accounting controls. Requirements
• Experience in staff accounting or a closely related accounting role.
• Working knowledge of corporate tax principles and related reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with sales tax processes and compliance responsibilities.
• Hands-on experience preparing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Proficiency in standard accounting practices and financial recordkeeping.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a Contract position.
