Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate accurate month-end close activities, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your accounting skills within a collaborative and growth-focused environment. Responsibilities Prepare and record journal entries, ensuring accuracy in double-entry bookkeeping and adherence to accounting standards. Perform account reconciliations for the general ledger, balance sheet, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to verify data integrity. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including financial statement preparation. Support internal controls compliance and assist in the development of new controls. Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation related to governmental or non-profit accounting practices. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Proven experience in corporate, public, or construction accounting environments with a strong understanding of GAAP. Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and payroll management systems like Paychex or ADP is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy. Ability to analyze financial data effectively and communicate findings clearly.
