Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Punta Gorda, Florida. In this long-term contract role, you will play a critical part in managing financial processes and ensuring accurate reporting. This position requires a strong background in accounting and familiarity with tools like QuickBooks and SAP.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Manage the general ledger and oversee its accuracy and completeness.
• Handle accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoicing and payment reconciliation.
• Generate and interpret financial reports using QuickBooks and other accounting tools.
• Support month-end close activities by performing detailed analysis and reconciliations.
• Review and process accounts payable (AP) transactions to maintain timely payments.
• Assist with compliance requirements related to military contracts and ensure adherence to regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records for audit and internal review purposes. Requirements
• Proven experience in accounting with a focus on journal entries and general ledger management.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and SAP software.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S. due to contractual requirements.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
