Jobs › Hyannis, MA › Staff Accountant Housing Assistance Corp. Staff Accountant Hyannis, MA Apply Perform day-to-day accounts payable & accounts receivable functions while supporting general accounting activities. This role is transaction-focused & supports the monthly close, audit process, & program operations. Duties & Responsibilities Accounts Receivable (AR) Code daily cash receipts & prepare deposit detail Maintain AR subledger for assigned programs Prepare program-specific billings & monthly invoicing Review AR aging & assist with collections follow-up Coordinate billing documentation with internal program staff Accounts Payable (AP) Enter vendor invoices & employee reimbursements Prepare manual AP checks (prep only; no release authority) Maintain vendor records & setups Reconcile AP subledger activity Accounting Support Assist with month-end close & reconciliations Prepare bank reconciliation support Support audit requests & documentation Crosstrain as backup within Finance Education & Experience Associate or bachelor\'s degree in accounting or related field preferred 2-4 years of AP/AR or accounting experience Nonprofit experience preferred Work Environment & Physical Requirements Office-based role requiring prolonged periods of computer work; occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. Hours of Work This role is paid on a salary basis. The hours of work for this position are Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week.
