Job Description

Full job description Our Client is a physician-driven managed services organization (MSO) with proprietary technology embedded in the service offering. The Staff Accountant, will support the monthly close process, maintain meticulous financial records, and ensure our expenses (and our physician organization clients') are recorded with precision. This role is perfect for a staff accountant that likes the idea of being hands-on with QuickBooks managing a multi-entity environment with the career opportunity to work daily with the senior management team and founders at this thriving and growing healthcare enterprise. Annual Performance Bonus Responsibilities Cash & Bank Management:
Perform daily bank matching and monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances, especially various health insurance payments to our physician group clients
Expense Oversight:
Collect, review and record credit card expenses for multiple companies and partners
Journal Entries:
support AP and AR, and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting principles, paying attention to shared allocations
General Ledger Maintenance:
Maintain and update supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts, performing timely reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Shared Services Allocation:
Maintain, review and record allocations for shared services among the companies and within the sub-P&L structure for the medical group client
Insurance Accruals:
Collaborate with the Analytics team to understand the data and process; ensure that the insurance AR and monthly accruals are properly booked and reconciled month over month
Payroll:
Oversee the payroll processing via Paychex, including verifying and ensuring accuracy of payroll deductions and benefits
Month-End/Year-End Close:
Actively participate in the closing cycle, ensuring all deadlines are met and all documentation is stored according to internal policies (within the accounting software as well as SharePoint). Prepare monthly financial statements for physician partners of the medical group at the P&L center level as well as consolidated
Audit & Compliance:
Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and providing necessary supporting documentation.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas to improve our accounting workflows and suggest enhancements to procedures and internal controls.
Ad Hoc Reports & Analyses:
work with senior leadership to prepare analyses and findings as needed
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
Experience:
2-4 years of accounting experience, ideally within a corporate, multi-site medical group or multi-entity environment.
Technical Proficiency:
Direct experience with QuickBooks and Paychex is highly preferred. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (must be fluent in Pivot Tables, X-Lookup, V-Lookup, and SUMIF functions).
Knowledge:
Strong foundational understanding of U.S. GAAP and general ledger accounting.
Soft Skills:
High attention to detail, strong organizational habits, and the ability to communicate financial data clearly to both accounting and non-accounting team members such as physician partners.
