About the job About The Role Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team at our Ithaca headquarters. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in general ledger and accounts receivable who is looking to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced environment. The Staff Accountant will support key accounting functions, including accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close, while helping ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities Prepare and process customer invoices and support collections activities Reconcile Accounts Receivable balances and resolve discrepancies Process cash receipts and perform bank reconciliations Perform warranty review and accrual analysis Prepare and file state sales tax returns Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations; support month-end close Create and maintain routine and ad hoc financial reports Analyze financial data to identify issues and recommend process improvements Assist with annual audit procedures and provide required documentation Collaborate with accounting team members and cross-functional departments Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field 3-5 years of accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (JDE experience a plus) Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization
