  • $105,000 a year Job Summary___________________________________________________________________ The Staff Engineer, with minimal oversight of a Senior Engineer or Senior Engineer
  • Supervisor, plans, organizes, controls, integrates, and completes engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
Responsible for participating, supporting, and maintaining compliance to the Company's quality, environmental and occupational health & safety policies, procedures, programs, and activities as defined by the Company. Position responsibilities include direct communications with employees, customers, or representatives. Duties and Responsibilities_______________________________________________________ Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems. Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Assists in the evaluation and approval of design changes, specifications and drawing releases. Uses Computer-Aided Design, simulation and other software tools to develop mechanical, electrical, and/or logical systems. Actively involved in research and development of Company products and outside customer products. Work with the prototyping and manufacturing teams to resolve design and manufacturing issues prior to production implementation. Manages specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing. Provides technical support for sales, manufacturing, and aftermarket service functions within the organization. Assists in the development and implementation methods and procedures for scheduling and monitoring projects, and regularly informs management of current status of each project. Develops and evaluates theoretical and conceptual designs. Analyzes engineering sketches, models, drawings, specifications and related data to determine design factors such as size, shape, material selection and arrangement of parts. Conducts experiments, analyzes data, and interprets results. Models, demonstrates, and tests prototypes. Prepares interim and completion project reports, as needed. Works with manufacturing and quality managers to review and monitor quality and process improvements associated with existing products and new product development. Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project resources according to project requirements. Directly communicates with customers in the form of quotations, meetings and presentations to understand and define their needs. Assists in the development of plans to meet sales requirements and to ascertain engineering requirements to develop new markets. Controls expenditures within limitations of budgetary requirements. Education and Experience Requirements____________________________________________ Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
