Steel Fitter

Superior Iron Works, Inc. is a growing AISC certified miscellaneous metals/ structural steel fabricator and erector in the

DC, VA & MD

areas. We are currently looking for Fitter / Fabricators to help with assembling components for production.

Primary duties include:

Measuring, laying out, aligning, and fitting fabricated metal work according to blueprints. Positioning metal work with overhead crane or forklift Preparing steel for welding using grinder, etc. Welding in accordance with the blueprints and specifications Finishing metal work (clean slag, splatter, or excess weld) Cleaning and housekeeping activities.

Qualities:

At least 1 year of experience in Structural Steel Fitting / Fabrication Read and interpret blueprints Lift up to 50 lbs Have own transportation High school diploma or GED preferred (but not required) Hours are 7- 3:30 pm Monday-Friday. Compensation will be determined based on experience and skill level. If you possess the above, we would love to hear from you!
