Job Description

Atlantic Eye is a comprehensive ophthalmology practice built on a culture of ambition, respect, excellence, and teamwork. We believe our team members are among the practice's most valuable assets. Our surgery center, Atlantic Surgery Center, located in Eatontown, is currently seeking a full-time Sterile Processing Technician for our one-room surgical center. Responsibilities:
Demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Surgery Center. Performs in accordance with the adopted standards and approved procedures. Participates as a team member in supportive role in the peri-operative process. Maintains HIPAA compliance. Demonstrates understanding and commitment to the Quality Assurance & Risk Management programs as adopted by the Surgery Center. Performs in accordance with established quality assurance policies and procedures. Supports Risk Management and participates in programs that are directed to patient and employee safety. Attends and participates in the in-service programs and educational endeavors. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the requirements of each procedure approved for the Surgery Center. Assembles necessary supplies and equipment for the surgical procedures in accordance with the surgeon's preference. Checks equipment to assure proper working condition. Anticipates the needs of the surgeons to assure that all necessary equipment, instrumentation, and supplies are readily available, and delays are avoided. Demonstrates understanding of safety policies and procedures and assists in monitoring for violations or potential hazards. Reports to the Director of Nursing any observed or suspected non-compliance with policies and procedures Demonstrates understanding of required maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment by proper cleaning, care, utilization, and sterilization as per the IFU documentation. Handles equipment and instrumentation correctly to insure appropriate availability and safety. Assists in work areas in cleaning, storage, packaging, and sterilization of instruments. Assists in inventory management, storing and stocking of supplies as directed, rotating stock and refrigerating inventory immediately if required. Performs other duties within scope of practice, as assigned by Director of Nursing.
Qualifications:
Must be certified by an accredited agency such as IAHCSMM or CBSPD.
