Job Description

Job Title:
Warehouse Material Handling Associate Job Description The Warehouse Material Handling Associate receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, and tools while maintaining accurate stock records in a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard environment. This role ensures materials flow efficiently through the facility, performs inventory control tasks, operates forklifts and related equipment safely, and supports production by supplying materials as needed. Responsibilities Receive incoming equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, and tools and verify accuracy against requisitions or invoices by counting, sorting, or weighing articles. Store materials in designated locations within the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard in an organized and efficient manner. Issue and distribute materials and supplies to workers and production areas as needed to support ongoing operations. Compile, maintain, and update stock records to ensure accurate inventory levels and traceability of materials. Mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles as required to ensure proper identification and tracking. Operate gas or electric powered forklift trucks to move, stack, tier, load, and unload materials safely in and around the plant, warehouse, and stockyard. Properly load and operate the stress relieving oven in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines. Perform daily and weekly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks with accuracy and consistency to maintain equipment and work areas. Conduct inventory of materials on a regular basis to verify stock levels and identify discrepancies. Use MRP (Material Requirements Planning) transactions such as issues and receipts to record material movements accurately in the system. Pick and prepare orders with attention to detail to ensure correct quantities and items are delivered to the appropriate locations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with facility standards and safety practices. Essential Skills At least 1 year of prior material handling and inventory experience. Experience with inventory control processes, including counting, sorting, and verifying incoming materials. Ability to operate gas or electric powered forklift trucks safely in a warehouse or plant environment. Ability to perform MRP transactions such as issues and receipts accurately. Strong attention to detail when receiving, storing, issuing, and picking materials. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established procedures consistently. Basic math skills to count, weigh, and verify material quantities. Vocational or high school education or equivalent. Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and stacking materials as required by the role. Additional Skills & Qualifications On-the-job training will be provided to learn specific trade techniques and procedures. Experience working in a warehouse, stockroom, or production environment. Familiarity with operating and loading a stress relieving oven or similar industrial equipment. Experience picking orders and supplying materials to production lines. Comfort working with inventory systems and basic computer or terminal-based transactions. Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly storage and accurate records. Why Work Here? The facility is very clean and quiet, supporting focus and efficient operations. Work is performed in a warehouse and plant setting that includes stockrooms, storage yards, and production areas. Employees operate gas or electric powered forklifts and other material handling equipment, as well as a stress relieving oven, while following safety procedures. Multiple shift options are available, including 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday), 2nd shift (4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday), and a 4th weekend shift (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday). The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and quiet operations to support high-quality work on specialized projects. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of North Mankato, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $51125.00 - $54080.00/yr.
