Job Title:
Stockroom Associate Job Description The Stockroom Associate manually packs containers of finished goods into boxes, prepares products for shipment or storage, and supports basic inspection and lubrication of packaging equipment. This role works closely with production and warehouse teams to maintain accurate inventory, uphold high safety and sanitation standards, and ensure products are handled efficiently and carefully. Responsibilities Manually pack containers of finished goods into boxes in a safe and efficient manner. Prepare finished products for shipment or storage, including labeling, staging, and organizing materials. Assist with basic inspection of packaging equipment to identify obvious issues or irregularities. Support simple lubrication tasks on packaging equipment as directed to help maintain smooth operation. Handle materials and products throughout the stockroom, warehouse, and production areas. Support inventory control activities, including counting, organizing, and tracking materials and finished goods. Assist with general packaging and production tasks as needed to meet daily output goals. Participate in shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading products and materials. Perform general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris. Follow sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment in production and storage areas. Wear and properly use required personal protective equipment at all times. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including those related to working inside truck containers in varying temperatures. Comply with all company policies regarding attire, personal items, and cleanliness in the facility. Essential Skills Ability to manually lift and comfortably handle 30-40 lbs on a regular basis. Experience with packaging, production, or material handling in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Ability to perform basic inspection tasks on packaging equipment under guidance. Ability to follow instructions for simple lubrication and maintenance support tasks. Experience working in roles such as packaging operator, production worker, production operator, assembly technician, or similar. Familiarity with warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packing, labeling, and inventory handling. Commitment to following safety procedures and using required PPE consistently. Willingness to perform housekeeping and sanitation duties as part of daily responsibilities. Comfort working in environments with strong odors, such as pet food production. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous manufacturing experience is preferred. Experience in inventory management or inventory control is an advantage. Experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations is beneficial. Ability to work effectively as part of a respectful, team-oriented environment. Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as the operation grows and evolves. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces dog food, so the environment can be smelly and requires comfort working around strong odors. Work takes place in production, warehouse, and stockroom areas, including inside truck containers where temperatures can become very hot or very cold depending on the weather. The position requires wearing personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, hair nets, ear plugs, and safety shoes. Uniforms are provided and must be worn, along with steel-toe shoes and bump caps. The dress code prohibits jewelry of any kind, fake eyelashes, fake nails, and nail polish (gloves must be worn if nail polish is not removed). Tight-fitting clothing such as yoga pants is not allowed; jeans or durable work pants are expected. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to safety and attire policies throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lebanon, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
