Duties Greet customers warmly as they approach the checkout counter, ensuring a positive shopping experience. Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process sales accurately and quickly. Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and perform cash handling duties with precision. Assist customers with product questions, provide product demos when applicable, and suggest upselling opportunities to enhance their purchase. Maintain an organized checkout area by stocking registers, merchandising nearby products, and ensuring cleanliness. Support store operations by performing stock replenishment and merchandising tasks during downtime. Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering customer inquiries or directing calls professionally. Skills Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures in a retail or grocery store setting. Demonstrated supervising experience or ability to oversee team activities during shifts. Strong communication skills in both English and bilingual capabilities to serve diverse customers effectively. Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for retail math calculations and cash handling. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and proactive approach. Knowledge of grocery store operations, including stocking, merchandising, and product demos. Skilled in upselling techniques to increase sales while ensuring customer satisfaction.
