Job Description

a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Provide direct patient care, including assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, toileting, ambulation, repositioning) and supporting procedures and therapies. Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the RN. Perform core Patient Care Technician duties: Vital signs, blood glucose, weights, intake/output Specimen collection, Foley care, telemetry application Patient safety monitoring and documentation Complete at least 4 unit-based skills , such as: Phlebotomy / venipuncture 12-lead EKG Simple dressings Foley catheter removal Bladder scan, straight catheterization IV catheter removal Point-of-care testing Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record. Support unit operations, including: Responding to call lights and phones Transporting patients Passing meal trays Ensure equipment issues are reported promptly and follow all safety and infection control policies. Communicate effectively with the care team and build professional working relationships. Educate patients and families under RN direction; may assist with restraint application/removal per policy. Demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality care and continuous improvement. Participate in training, identify learning needs, and maintain required competencies. Complete clerical tasks as needed and manage time and priorities effectively. Perform advanced skills based on department needs (e.g., IV removal, arrhythmia monitoring, NG tube care).
