We are seeking a full-time Structural Steel Material & Production Coordinator to prepare material orders, verify production files, and support production workflow from detailing through fabrication.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-driven individual to support structural steel fabrication by preparing material orders, verifying production files, and coordinating workflow between detailing, purchasing, and the shop. This is a fast-paced, production-critical role where accuracy, urgency, and accountability directly impact cost and schedule. The right candidate is quick on a keyboard, takes ownership of their work, moves with purpose, and understands that mistakes at this stage create costly downstream problems.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare material orders using shop drawings and bills of material Solicit pricing from multiple vendors and evaluate quotations for accuracy and completeness Release purchase orders and track material to ensure timely delivery Take full ownership of material accuracy, ensuring orders, files, and quantities are correct before release to prevent costly downstream errors Nest plate part CAD files to maximize material yield and provide to production Review .nc1 files for main beams and members for accuracy and correct prior to production Nest angle parts using spreadsheet-based systems and provide to production Track stock material quantities to support production needs Create and maintain fabrication checklists for main members, parts, and columns Organize and prepare digital files (including thumb drives) for shop processing equipment Coordinate with project managers, detailers, and shop personnel to maintain workflow continuity Track incoming material against bills of material to ensure accuracy and completeness Prepare and release work in a timely manner to prevent delays or disruptions to shop production

Required Skills & Experience:

Strong spreadsheets skills (used for nesting, tracking, and organization) Typing speed of 70+ WPM with high level of accuracy Familiarity with CNC/beam processing files (.nc1) Familiarity with plate nesting software (ProNest preferred) Understanding of steel fabrication processes; ability to read and interpret structural steel erection drawings and shop drawings Experience preparing material takeoffs and bills of material Experience soliciting vendor pricing and negotiating to obtain competitive material costs Ability to identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information before they impact production Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Clear and professional communication Comfortable working in a company culture guided by Christian values
