As a Career Services Specialist, you will be instrumental in helping students transition from education to employment. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Coordinating all aspects of job placement services, including managing employer job postings, strengthening external partnerships, and supporting advisory committee engagement.Offering one-on-one coaching to students on resume writing, cover letter development, and interview preparation to boost job readiness and confidence.
Establishing and maintaining an effective communication network with faculty, staff, and local employers to enhance student placement opportunities.
Tracking student and employer engagement, analyzing employment outcomes, and preparing accurate monthly reports for internal use and accreditation compliance.
Planning and executing impactful campus events such as job fairs, career development workshops, and employer panels to broaden students' career horizons.
Supporting other college initiatives and events that align with career and workforce development.
What We're Looking For:
Education Requirements:
An associate's degree from an accredited institution is required. A combination of relevant education and/or a minimum of three years of experience in career services, business development, job placement, or a related field may be considered.Experience:
Previous experience in project management, career advising, employer relations, or workforce development is strongly preferred. Experience working with diverse populations in an educational or professional setting is a plus.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as basic experience with database management and outcome tracking. Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and graphics or presentation tools is beneficial.Organizational Abilities:
Strong time management, planning, and multitasking skills to successfully coordinate career services events, maintain detailed records, and meet reporting deadlines.Attention to
Detail:
Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous eye for detail when managing student/employer data, reviewing résumés, and compiling reports.Communication & Outreach:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to network and build relationships with employers, faculty, and community partners.Career Coaching Skills:
Knowledge and application of résumé writing, cover letter development, job search strategies, and interview preparation techniques. Ready to Apply?
