Key Responsibilities:
Execute submerged arc welding (SAW) on diverse metal components, including sheet metal, pipes, and structural steel, following detailed blueprints and schematics. Prepare materials using hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, and press brake machines to ensure proper fit-up before welding. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and ASME codes & standards to guide fabrication and assembly processes. Operate rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts safely to position heavy materials for welding and assembly. Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and weld integrity. Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols on construction sites. Collaborate with team members on mechanical assembly, pipe threading, ductwork installation, and fabrication tasks. Support the use of various welding techniques, including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and welding methods as required. Assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues related to welding equipment or fabrication processes. Follow schematics and technical instructions for complex assemblies involving plasma cutting or machining.Skills:
Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety regulations.Proficiency in multiple welding techniques:

Under the direction of the Welding Lead, the responsibilities of the Submerged Arc Welder (SAW) position include fitting and joining, fabricating, and repairing metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques in accordance with product specifications and production schedules. As a Submerged Arc Welder, you will work in coordination with the Shift Supervisor and other senior management to ensure that the entire customer product is fit and Welded to the specifications of each job and meets the outlined requirements. Consistent production of quality UT passable welds. Maintain production level as determined by the production supervisor. Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) is a joining process that involves the formation of an electric arc between a continuously electrode and the workpiece to be welded. A blanket of powdered flux surrounds and covers the arc and, when molten, provides electrical conduction between the metal to be joined and the electrode. It also generates a protective gas shield and a slag, all of which protects the weld zone.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required. Incumbent must possess a minimum of 1-2 years' Sub arc welding experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal incumbent must possess: 1. Knowledge of a variety of welder concepts, practices and procedures. 2. Knowledge and understanding of welding symbols, and other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts. 3. Ability to use welding equipment such as Submerged Arc Welding Machine, torches and rose buds. 4. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. 5. Ability to use temperature sticks and welding fillet gauges 6. Ability to work in extreme temperatures (sometimes due to season) 7. Ability to work additional hours, as needed. 8. Successfully pass a Welder test, a background check, including criminal history, drug screen, physical, audiogram, and vision test.RESPONSIBILITIES 1.
Ability to perform welding duties using a Sub Arc Welding machine. 2. Ability to weld steel components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions. 3. Ability to weld in various directions: flat and horizontal. 4. Ability to perform a variety of specific welder tasks, such as, operate a seamer and program proper settings. 5. Ability to operate forklifts, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job's needs. 6. Ability to inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications. 7. Ability to examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications. 8. Ability to perform job-specific procedures, such as clamping, holding, tack-welding, grinding, or bolting component parts to obtain required configurations and positions. 9. Ability to read, understand and follow job order specifications engineering drawings, and/or work orders. 10. Demonstrated willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position. 11. Ability to maintain functionality of equipment. 12. Ability to maintain quality welds and UT passable welds. 13. Ability to maintain production level as determined by supervisor. 14. Must display a positive attitude and willingness to learn and participate in a changing environment to reach a common goal. 15. Must maintain production and quality of finished products. 16. Must operate equipment safely and maintain safe working habits. 17. Must be able to perform a variety of other tasks as assigned.Pay:
