Job Description

The Genesis Center exists to be a place of hope, transformation and empowerment for individuals on their journey to recovery from substance use disorders and mental health concerns. Our partnership with faith-based sober living facilities in the community gives individuals access to services that they require on their journey to sobriety. The Genesis Centers provides a spectrum of outpatient services that includes Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP), Case Management, Peer Support, Individual Counseling, and Aftercare Services. Our community partnership provides clients an opportunity for stability that comes from a longer program. This affords them an increased opportunity for further development of sobriety as a state of mind and spirit that contributes to the betterment of our clients, their loved ones, and the community at large.
Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Regional Site Director, in coordination with the Clinical Director, and as a member of the treatment team, The Substance Use Counselor leads the facilitation individual and group sessions for their caseload of clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders, including assisting clients with completing diagnostic assessments, creating treatment plans, and developing insights and coping strategies toward the empowerment of clients to overcome challenges and develop a sense of self in their recovery. Conducts diagnostic assessments and assigns level of care as clinically appropriate according to ASAM regulations Development and utilization of Individualized Treatment Plans Conducts individual therapy and group therapy for clients, both in-person and via telehealth based upon direction provided With support of clinical team, conducts brief clinical management of individuals in crisis. Maintains all daily and periodic clinical reports pertaining to the diagnosis, treatment, and delivery of services in the health record software. Provides a periodic assessment of client needs, develops treatment plans with the client, summarizes treatment progress, and completes discharge summaries. Completes documentation throughout entire treatment episodes, including Diagnostic Assessments, Treatment Plan Reviews, Level of Care documents, Individual and Group Progress Notes, Discharge Summaries, and any other additional documentation needs Coordinates services on behalf of clients with supportive agencies and other team members through consultation, and under direction of directorial staff Participates in in-service training, clinical supervision, case staffing, consultations, utilization review meetings, and other job-related meetings. Other duties as assigned.
Education & Licensure:
Minimum:
Bachelor's degree in a human services field preferred, Master's degree in counseling or social work preferred. Appropriate licensure including but not limited to
LPC, LSW, LCDCII, LCDCIII, LICDC.
LPCC and/or LISW preferred.
Work Experience:
Prefer two years experience in related mental health counseling field with experience in the substance abuse services.
Abilities:
Application of diverse modalities of counseling and diagnostic theories and techniques to a full range of diverse client populations as well as co-occurring disorders Knowledgeable about the disease of Substance-Use Disorder, 12-Step Programming models, and community resource navigation Experience working with EHR Software Strong documentation and communication skills Strong organizational skills The Genesis Center is an
