Emergence has an immediate opening for an experienced, compassionate and dedicated SUD Counselor to work in our Florence, Oregon office to provide encouragement and assistance to help participants in treatment achieve long-term recovery, connect with the local recovery community, and navigate local resources. Signing Bonus:
$3,500! $1,500 on your first regular paycheck and $2,000 after 6 months
SUD Counselor Position Highlights:

SUD Counselor Responsibilities:
Manages client flow in Florence office with little direct supervision. Managing all aspects of a case from date of entry to date of discharge. Evaluating patients' physical and mental behaviors. Developing appropriate treatment and recovery plans. Facilitating individual and group therapy sessions. Monitoring patients over time to access treatment progress. Collaborating with psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, social workers, and departments of correction as appropriate. Identifying behaviors that interfere with treatment and recovery. Assisting primary caregivers to manage addiction-related behavior.
SUD Counselor Requirements:
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor I or II (CADC-I or CADC-II) Previous experience with the treatment of substance use disorders Application of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services' (SAMHSA) best practice indicators In-depth knowledge of drug and alcohol testing to monitor treatment plans and medical instructions Self-starter, capable carrying out multiple tasks in a timely manner Excellent written and oral communication skills Exceptional interpersonal skills and a compassionate nature SUD Counselor Preferred Experience and Qualifications Associate degree in chemical dependency counseling, or a bachelor's degree with coursework in chemical dependency Familiarity with electronic health record systems like Carelogic would be advantageous. Experience with co-occurring health and mental health disorders Bilingual in English and Spanish highly desired
