Line Cook - Job Overview Sugars in Embudo, NM is looking for a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our team for the summer season. As a Line Cook, you'll help craft the fresh, flavorful dishes that make Sugars a local favorite — from our signature burgers and fish and chips to vibrant salads. You'll work in a fast-paced, kitchen environment where quality, consistency, and teamwork are key. The Sugars compound is evolving into a true destination along the Rio Grande. Plans are underway for a bakery and ice cream parlor , an RV park , and self-sufficient farming practices that reflect our commitment to sustainability and local food. Responsibilities Prep ingredients and station for the day, and leave prep organized at the end of each service to set the next shift up for success Provide friendly and efficient customer service when taking orders and cooking meals Maintain fast, high-quality food presentation with ticket times averaging 8-12 minutes Wash dishes, clean the line, and ensure the kitchen is tidy and sanitized at the end of each day Communicate food supply levels and needs clearly with other team members or the owner Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours Skills and Qualifications Proficient in food preparation techniques with a strong understanding of culinary practices Knowledge of menu planning, including dietary considerations for various customer needs Familiarity with food service operations, including cooking methods, equipment, and safety standards Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a busy kitchen environment Attention to detail in both cooking processes and presentation of dishes Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within the kitchen
