Summer Camp Cook

We are looking for an Summer Camp Cook who enjoys working hard, caring for people, and being part of a mission-driven summer team. Whether you are building food service experience or looking for meaningful seasonal work, this role offers the chance to make a real impact in the lives of children, families, and staff. You will work alongside a supportive kitchen team to prepare meals for campers and staff while helping create a welcoming dining experience each day. Staff should be able to:

Lift up to 50 pounds multiple times each day Stand for up to 10 hours per day Work in Rhode Island summer conditions, including warm kitchen environments Sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move throughout the kitchen and dining hall What You'll DoHospitality & Community Help create a welcoming dining experience for campers, guests, and staff Live out the mission and values of Aldersgate Support a safe and inclusive environment where all people are treated with dignity and respect Model healthy boundaries and appropriate behavior with campers, families, volunteers, and staff Kitchen Operations Assist with preparing and serving meals Set up the dining hall, buffet line, and salad/yogurt bar Help prepare snacks, cookouts, and pack-out meals Wash, dry, and organize dishes and kitchen equipment Complete daily cleaning and sanitation tasks Remove trash, recycling, and kitchen waste as needed Food Safety Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation Follow Rhode Island Department of Health regulations and American Camp Association standards Sanitize kitchen surfaces throughout the day Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance concerns promptly Teamwork Work closely with the Head Cook and kitchen team Follow directions and complete assigned tasks Participate in weekly check-ins and end-of-season evaluations Why Work at Camp Aldersgate?
