This dynamic role offers the opportunity to create memorable summer experiences by guiding children through engaging activities, fostering social skills, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment. As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will be a positive role model, inspiring curiosity and confidence while developing essential skills in caregiving, teaching, and childhood development. This paid position is perfect for energetic individuals passionate about working with children and making a meaningful impact during the summer months. Responsibilities Lead and facilitate a variety of fun, educational activities tailored to different age groups, including toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children. Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by adhering to safety protocols and providing first aid when necessary. Support children with diverse needs by applying inclusive caregiving practices and working with individuals with disabilities to promote participation and engagement. Manage behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and age-appropriate behavior management techniques. Assist with daily routines such as snack time, nap time (for younger children), diapering or potty training support, and classroom organization. Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a welcoming environment that encourages social interaction, teamwork, and personal growth. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress, concerns, or special needs. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, babysitting, nannying, or classroom environments is highly valued. STEM background Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development is essential. Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already held. Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus. Strong skills in caregiving, behavior management, and classroom organization are important for success in this role. Demonstrated ability to engage children through teaching, play-based learning, and nurturing interactions.
