Summer Camp Media Specialist

Position Summary The Summer Camp Media Specialist is responsible for capturing and sharing the energy, creativity, and impact of the summer camp program through photos, videos, social media content, and storytelling. This role supports camp staff by documenting daily activities, creating engaging promotional materials, and helping families, supporters, and the community stay connected to the camp experience. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, energetic, and enjoys working with children and families in a fast-paced camp environment. Key Responsibilities Capture high-quality photos and videos of daily camp activities, events, field trips, and special programs Create engaging social media content, including posts, reels, stories, and short videos Assist with updating the organization's social media platforms and website content Design simple graphics, flyers, and promotional materials as needed Create emails for donor engagement Organize and maintain digital media files and photo archives Obtain and follow all media release and privacy guidelines for campers Work collaboratively with camp leadership and staff to highlight camp successes and special moments Interview campers, staff, and volunteers for testimonials and stories Assist with live event coverage during camp celebrations or special activities Ensure all content reflects the mission and values of the organization Support general camp activities and provide additional assistance when needed Qualifications Must have experience with photography, videography, social media, and digital content creation Proficiency with smartphones, cameras, and basic editing software/apps Strong communication and organizational skills Creativity and attention to detail Time management Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working with children and families from diverse backgrounds Positive attitude, flexibility, and reliability Must pass all required background checks Experience using editing platforms Knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and other social media platforms Applicants must have examples ready to submit of creative work, such as photography, videos, graphic design, social media content, or other digital media projects Work Schedule This is a seasonal summer position for seven weeks (June, July). Hours may vary based on camp activities, events, and field trips. Occasional evening availability may be required for special events. Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout camp facilities and outdoor spaces Ability to lift and carry media equipment and supplies as needed Ability to work outdoors during summer weather conditions Mission Impact The Summer Camp Media Specialist plays an important rsole in sharing the story of the camp program and helping families, donors, and the community see the positive impact the camp has on children.

Pay:

$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
