Job Description

Position Overview The Summer Camp Nurse is responsible for overseeing the health and wellness of campers and staff throughout the camp season. This role serves as the on-site primary medical professional, ensuring proper care, documentation, and communication for all health matters. Responsibilities Student Health & Medical Care Provide routine and emergency medical care to campers and staff Administer medications in accordance with physician instructions and camp policies Respond to and manage illness, injury, and medical emergencies Accompany campers or staff to off-site medical facilities when necessary Serve as the primary liaison between camp administration and families regarding medical needs Communicate promptly with families or designated contacts in the event of serious health concerns Health Records & Compliance Maintain accurate and complete health records for all campers and staff Review, collect, and manage medical forms and documentation prior to and during camp Ensure proper storage, tracking, and dispensing of prescribed medications Collaborate with camp administration to ensure the timely and accurate processing of health information Monitor and support compliance with health and safety standards Qualifications MA Licensed healthcare professional: RN, LPN, or NP Current CPR, First Aid, Concussion, and EpiPen certification Valid driver's license Experience in pediatric and adult care, including emergency response Knowledge of community health practices Prior experience working with children and young adults preferred Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills within scope of practice Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations Excellent communication skills with families, staff, and leadership Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in recordkeeping Ability to work independently and as part of a team
